1 Year with AsBella Models!

On this day a Year Ago I began my role as an intern here at AsBella Models. Words cannot begin to describe the joy, happiness and enthusiasm I feel having spent a year at this company. I began working as a PR Assistant Intern at Raw Fashion Agency and never in my wildest dreams thought I would end up working for a Modeling Agency. When I met Annie a year ago I felt something new and exciting. Something I hadn’t felt before and I knew that I had to take the opportunity of working for AsBella Models.

1 Year has past since my time began here at the Agency. I have met some of the most incredibly individuals and gotten to interview celebrity photographers, Celebrity Make up Artists and Motivational speakers at my time here with AsBella. Ive attended numerous events in the fashion industry and have to say that for a person of my age that I feel incredibly blessed.

I am incredibly blessed to get to work with a person whom I care for deeply as well as can work well with. I think that it is incredibly difficult to find workplaces where you can be friends with your coworkers and boss. But the environment here at AsBella is wonderful and everyone is a part of the AsBella Family. Annie and I have grown immensely close together and have and our fair share of good memories from shopping on the Sydney equivalent of Fifth Avenue to co-ordinating photo shoots. My time here at AsBella Models has taught me that Happiness in the work place is an important factor in inspiration and achieving goals. I am incredibly proud to work for such an amazing business and am truly living any Gay Boys dream of working in the Fashion Industry…

Meeting with creator of Shazam, Tim Ricker

I remember the very first application I downloaded on my iPhone 2G was Shazam back in 2007. I was so amazed by this application that 5 years on I could never imagine that I will get the opportunity to meet the creator, yet have an opportunity to work with him. I’m ready to embark on this new journey with AsBella Models and the future of technology!!! Keep everyone posted!!!

Camilla at Heli & UV Pacific 2012, Queensland

Working at the Heli and UV Pacific was a fun experience in many ways. I was informed and booked for the aviation exhibition-shift well before the date, allowing for preparation. The information that Asbella models provided was informative and comprehensive with everything from the general information about the shift and the client Heliflite, and photos of how make-up and hair should be done for the days and example photos of what to wear. I was advised to wear a sexy dress, yet elegant and classy, so getting Annie’s opinion and final ok for the dresses by sending her snapshots was great. I was also called from the agency for a chat about it all with some extra information and safety advice closer to the date.

On the days of work I was asked to message when I got to the venue as well as when I left. Asbella Models have your safety as number one and kept in contact throughout the days making sure everything was going well. After completing the days of work I sent in the invoice, report form and photos via email and had a chat to the agency about my two days of work, talking to Annie is always a pleasure and she really makes you feel like a team member. The job itself was fun and involved greeting and talking to clients about the company and products and addressing them to the Heliflite representatives for further detailed information, not to forget having photos with the helicopters J

I had a great time working for Heliflite at the HELI and UV Pacific exhibition as an AsBella Model. Thanks to the AsBella Models team for the throughout professionalism.

Vanessa’s Experience at G2E Macau

On the 23 – 24 May, I had the most amazing experience of travelling to the crazy city of Macau with AsBella Models. I was lucky enough to be part of the G2E held at the Venetian Hotel in Macau and what a great two days it was. On the first day I was dressed up in a Michael Jackson costume and wow I don’t think I’ve ever had so many people ask for pictures before. I can’t believe this can be considered as work, it was so much fun, smiling, dancing and conversing with people from all over the world whilst listening to MJ all day. The next day I swapped to a Grease costume, I was a pink lady. It was the first time I wore a wig and I don’t think it looked too bad haha! The other Asbella Models that I worked with were so great, we had so much fun working together I feel so lucky to get to travel and meet other great people. Now I have a place to visit and stay whenever I go to Hong Kong! Apart from the event, Annie and I went to some delicious restaurants and I got to try the popular portugese tarts, yumm. I consider myself to be so lucky to be able to travel to an international event and represent AsBella Models. A big thank you to the AsBella team. Bring on the next event!

Fashion Week 2012

2 Weeks ago I headed off to one of Sydney’s most elite and exclusive events: Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. After spending almost 2 years in the fashion industry I have had life altering experiences, which have inspired myself. I began my Journey at Raw Fashion Agency working as a Public Relations Intern. I found my passion and what I was good at straight away and attended my first ever Fashion week in Sydney in 2011. Fashion week was an exceptional networking tool that I learned to utilize in the industry to meet my now current Boss and Director Annie Siara of AsBella Models who gave me the privilege of working with some of the biggest names in the industry such as Kareem Black ( New York Celebrity Photographer) and Staci Child ( Lady Gaga Stylist). Annie has been one of my biggest inspirations who at the young age of 27 runs her own high profile modeling agency. AsBella models despite its young age has worked with high profile clients and high profile events who’s past work includes the After Party for Bon Jovi’s Concert. Annie gave me the opportunity again this year to meet some high profile clients as well as to be a part of the VIP Guests of Fashion Week. Fashion week was one of the most regarding experiences that I have been given. I would especially like to thank Annie Siara and Carol Dobbie for their continued support and allowing me to achieve my goals. Dear All,

It has been a while since my last post and I will just like to update everyone on what I have been up to with AsBella Models and myself.

This particular photoshoot with my fabulous AsBella Models team and Ian Barry (Photographer) is to reflect the changes in myself and what I will like others to perceive me as who I am today.

Those who have known me as a model, knew who I was but I will like to share with you today’s Annie Siara. The idea behind this shoot is a model turned business woman. I really do hope that we have achieved this with the images. Please leave your comments and thoughts of my new portfolio, whether you like them or hate them.

It has been a year and a half since I started AsBella Models. It has definitely been a journey. A fabulous journey!!! I cannot be more blessed in my life to have found something that I love to do and work does not seem like work for me.

For those who have been with me from the beginning know how I started AsBella Models and for those who do not know, well here is my story. I hope you will enjoy my journey that I am about to share with you.

I have been modeling since I was 17 years old (11 years), YES! I am really showing my age here. Ever since high school I have been modeling on and off, studying Interior Design at the same time. At the age of 25 I had an opportunity presented to me to model over in New York and I had to give my modeling career a go, as there wasn’t any opportunities here for me in Sydney.

Without putting much thought into it I packed my bags and left within 3 days, without knowing anyone there. I booked a hotel for 4 nights and thought I figured it out as I go. Obviously I couldn’t have had that much courage without the support of my family and friends and I am forever grateful to them.

The story began there; it was one of the most challenging and exciting experiences in my life and my life forever changed. New York to Sydney is very different, Sydney is very laid back and it is my comfort zone where else in New York you really had to hustle to get where you want. At the time as a 25-year-old female I really didn’t want to waste my time on partying anymore, I wanted to build a future for myself, and I gave it all I got over there. During this time I met some great people who gave me opportunities. From New York I went to Hong Kong and Macau and worked there as an event model and coordinator. After a year have gone pass of working for an agent I felt there was no room for me to grow as a person and I developed an idea to have my own business and have my identity stamped on something.

It was extremely hard at the start as I have never been in business nor did I have any guidance in business. However I believed in my idea and took this seed and grew from there. It started from developing a business name, logo and an image for AsBella Models to a business plan. This was all alien to me so I had to get myself educated. I did a short business course, went to seminars, asked a lot of questions and networked a lot.

I have made a lot mistakes and did a lot of wrong but I feel at the stage in my life that I am surrounded by so many positive people who are helping me and assisting me with their own experiences and network, so I have to say that I am a very lucky girl. My dad have always told me “There is one lesson you will never stop learning and that is Life Lesson”

Forward to today AsBella Models have built a portfolio in the Fashion and Beauty industry also in some of the up scale events such as Grand Opening for Legend Fighting Championship in Hong Kong, VIP Bon Jovi concert at The Star Sydney, Our fabulous friend at Spectrum Herbal which we build from scratch for their storyboard. Our portfolio will be growing to Macau and Hong Kong in the near future and especially in the High Fashion division.

At this stage for AsBella Models, my wonderful team and I feel it is time to grow. Our plan for The AsBella Models brand will be branching out to a sister company and in development for Asia. We will keep everyone posted on our journey…
